grating noise
i have a boxer 1.9d van 1999 and a grating noise when cold ticking over rev counter erratic terrible noise if you rev it goes away dip clutch goes release fast comes back release very slow sometimes goes away after a minute its fine i don't have the cold start wire on its the Lucas pump mite be that as it has a new clutch and i have just rebuild the engine and i locktite the flywheel bolts

starting to have bad thoughts about the pressure i put the bolts down to dose anyone no the settings for them

I've heard 3 since my first post same sound all different cars but same engine 1.9d xud common fault ?

Sounds like a clutch relaese bearing.
