Default Expert White / Purple Smoke - Please Help?

Hi all,

Have had problem with my Peugeot expert 2.0 HDI (2006), drives ok, however when merely plodding along, 30mph, 5 gear, a whitish purply smoke can be seen gathering behind vehicle.

If change to 4th gear, this is reduced slightly.

If clog it down so turbo kicks in, get the normal minor bit of black smoke with minimum white / purple smoke.
Serviced every 20,000 miles, last done 5,000 miles ago.
Recent air flow mass meter changed and swirl valve replaced.

Turbo changed 50,000 miles ago.

It was in a garage yesterday whom suspected Turbo, however im not sure, Turbo seems to work ok, maybe doesn't kick in when it should at times but no whistling etc.

They advised at garage that ECU requesting boost from turbo but it not getting it etc, not sure if that means more.

Any help and advice greatly received.

Thank you

Get the vacuum circuit checked. There maybe a leak.

It is fed off the brake servo. It is operating the turbo and egr systems. It needs to be checked by a vacuum gauge.
A good Peugeot specialist will know.

Brilliant, thank you, I get it booked in with peugeot dealer near me then as local garage that had it yesterday suspected turbo had fault at price of £1050 supply and fit, however, I have been done too many times in past and have paid for jobs and prob still present afterwards. The turbo can be heard and sounds really normal, over all vehicle runs lovely, is only when you look in rear view mirror and you see smoke do you realise something not right. its like there is too much air and fuel going through that shouldn't be. Thank you
