Default expert hdi cutting out, help

Hi all, my first post on here so hello, been having problems with my 51 plate expert hdi since xmas, left it along time but i put it down to the severe cold weather, it started when we had those sub zero temperatures, van kept cutting out every mile or so and had a bad diesel knock, i put it down to frozen diesel, it has gradually got worse now cutting out in fine weather when the engine is under load, even on the motorway at 75ish, usually it will restart after resetting it for a few seconds, but the other week it cut out and would not restart, aa recovered me and read the codes with there basic code reader, i think it was the 0112 code, fuel primary, anyway left it a few days and it restarted, took it out last sat locally and it cut out twice, once accelerating and once decelerating coming up to a corner going down the gears, it nearly puts you through the screen as it cuts straight out and in my eyes is dangerous, haven't been using it as i don't trust it, the intank fuel pump is on all the time? i thought they were only supposed to prime up for 8 seconds, anyway any help would be greatly appreciated before i have to start spending to get it diagnosed, love the van, hate the problems, thanks in advance, andy

Did you change the fuel filter at any stage?

P0112 is an inlet air temperature fault, It will not cause your cutting out problem.
Was there any other faults? I'd reckon you need a new diagnostic check.

the turbo boost solenoid but i knew about that one, it said fuel pump primary circuit when it was done on a basic code reader, it does need a proper diagnostic check, i thought the intank pumps were just supposed to prime up for about 8 seconds and go back off but mine stays on all the time you can hear it with the ignition on.

Think you may have a wiring issue.
What is the year of the van as I'm based in Southern Ireland and am not familiar with 51 plate etc!

51 plate is a 2001 mate, put some injector cleaner through yesterday, might risk it tonight and take it out for a run, stick to the quiet roads as its a liability, oh also put on a tuning box but had to take it off again as it was cutting out even more so i think it is fuel orientated

Hi all, have an update on this, got a new diagnostic check done today (thanks CAB top guy) have the fault codes here, P0201,P0202,P0203,P0204 Injector circuit malfunction cyl 1,2,3,4. p1606 (unknown) p1112, this showed up twice and p0246 i think this is the turbo charger wastegate solenoid which i knew about, one of the faults said fuel leak on high pressure pump, i can't see anything, i was just wondering if david or anyone in the know could help me out as to what to start with, replacing etc, thanks in advance, andy

Hello

I have read somewhere that with the fuel pump after time the seals wear and when engine gets warm it expands and you loose pressure i think you can test by when it cuts out cool pump with cold water and try starting again .

hi nige, its always restarted, only once has it not and it had to get recovered, started two days later though, it was getting fuel at the time though as the nice aa man had one of the feed pipes off the fuel filter housing and fuel was coming through, maybe just not enough pressure, its not a good starter either, turns over a while before it starts, not like the transit i use for work which starts first click, its just got to be fuelling.
