I just bought a peugot expert 1.9 d non turbo on a 52 plate 2 days ago ,everything seemed fine until we hit the motorway today and getting up to speed is quite hard.At a certain rev whilst going through the gears the engine will loose power and chuch black smoke out the exhaust and some times can smell exhaust fumes from the engine bay.
Fuel consumption is bad !! There is no EML light on either ![]() Any idea and if you have had this problem before how was it solved? Regards Steve //EDIT ,wheres the fuel filter? Under the header tank ? or am i wrong? Last edited by X_Steve_C; 10-21-2011 at 02:12 PM. |

Guys
Have you considered the EGR system on both vans, (I am no expert but had a similar fault and ended up blanking off the EGR system) the EGR (exhaust gas recurculation) puts spent exhaust gases back into the engine, its relatively easy to disable on your 52 plate van i think Cheers Chris |
