Default Expert 1.6HDI poor fuel economy

Hi guys,

New to the forum and after some advice for my 2007 Expert HDI 90

Brought this van with economy in mind, but since I've had it, its never been good on fuel.

I do carry a few tools in the back, plus I have a roof rack with a ladder on, but I did a few very slow and steady weeks to try and get the very most out of a tank and its now returning almost 30mpg.

I'm pretty sure that cant be right as the book claims 39mpg combined and most of my miles are on open a-roads. I've debated a remap but on this size engine I cant imagine any gains or additional fuel economy!

Is this anything that others have experienced? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
