Engine oil for expert?

Hi

Just been to get some top up oil for '06 2L HDI Expert, Halfords sold me 5w/30 fully synth, and have just seen an earlier thread where someone was asking the same question, and they where told 5w/40 fully synth. Have I been sold the wrong oil or doesn't it matter.

-30 -> deg 5/40w
-30->45 deg 5/30w
i put 5/30 in my 307 2lhdi
