having terrible problems with my 56 plate e7 hackney taxi, lose power on the slightest incline/hill top speed of about 50 on flat road. Have replaced the turbo and egr valve and been checked by three seperate mechanics over a 6 month period with no answers. Am getting to my wits end am on the verge of handing back taxi to finance company even though only 12 months left to pay has anybody else had/cured this problem the e7 is based on the expert van , if so please could you let me know the outcome

Is the engine management light on ?
If so, get the codes read; if not, then it's something physical - vacuum pipe leak to the turbo actuator, boost pipe leaking, damaged intercooler etc. Any hissing noises whilst accelerating ? |

Mick, put the question on Turbo Diesel Owners Club forum. Lots of folks on there with experience of 2.0 HDi engine problems.

hi ive got a similar problem on mine.
i`ve got a 2001 2.0hdi expert eurotaxi. mine was lacking in power as you start off. i:e when in 1st gear not noticeable, 2nd gear got a boost at 30mph change to 3rd and get a boost at 40 mph when in 4th its about 56 mph. had engine degreased after having some work done and engine cut out and would`nt start until some 15 minutes later. found out it was the wiring loom from ecu to engine electrics, jiggled it about and it cut out, give it a run and it was back to normal, then went again. just waiting to get hold of a loom at moment. hope this dont sound confusing!! |
