E7/expert Van Exhaust £1100 Peugeot

LOL,what a joke.Got my one piece knackered system changed for £360.

I just bought my 2003 van from my ex employer. I brought it to a registered dealer to have work done to it (brakes, service, timing belt) etc and got it fully DOE'd in Ireland. But now when I drive it, it makes a sort of exhausty rasping noise when I accelerate, as if there is something wroing with the difuser or something. I did bring it to a different garage (dealer was getting a bit fed up of seeing me) and they said it was normal for a van and for its type. But its really annoying. I have driven this van for years previously as part of work and I never remember this rasping exhaust like sound.

Can anyone advice ? I know diesel engines can be raspy but this doesn't sound right. Has anyone else come across this probelm and if it is an exhaust problem how much would cost for a new exhaust ?????
