Default boxer suspension

i have a clunking noise coming from top of front strut ,this noise happens whilst steering but not when driving in straight line. any ideas appreciated . cheers stu

thanks for that , confirms an idea i had, BUT are they a pig to remove ,ie dash out to get to it or can it be removed from in the wheelarch, had dash out to do heater matrix not long back ,not really wanting to do that again .cheers for the help stuart

Never heard of the dash coming out but then i don`t have a boxer , sorry.

top of strut mount is under dash rather than in engine bay like a proper car . cheers
