alternator removal peugeot partner 19d

how do you remove the alternator on my peugeot partner van 2003 19d, i need to replace the brushes and regulator, can i do it with it still in the van or is it better to remove and wats the easiest way thanks

Remove from underneath. The alternator belt has an auto tensioner. You'll need a 15mm spanner to move tension off the belt.
