51 Expert HDi No Start.

Hi there. Drove the above van onto my drive one evening no problem. Next day it cranked OK but no fire. Noticed the tank pump wasnt priming, the stop lamp flashing on the dash & the temp gauge swinging to the right. Disconnected the battery & reconnected & temp gauge became OK. Still no engine fire though. Fuel pump is working if I manually power it after the relay. Would any sensor down stop the ECU telling the fuel pump to prime ?, as it doesnt seem to be gounding the control signal when you key on ? If its not the main relay is it most likely to be the ECU itself ?
