Hi,
I'm rebuilding the engine as a result a 'holed' piston. I currently have the engine on my bench, and it is now ready to re-fit the timing chain. Would anyone be kind enough to assist with information regarding the timing procedure for this PSA DW12, 2.2Ltr chain-driven DOHC Boxer van engine ? I have located the 6mm pin holes on In & Ex cam drive cogs, and have found the 'coloured links' in the chain, which I assume line up with the arrows on the cam cogs??? But I'm completely unsure about how to establish the correct crank position, prior to fitting the timing chain ![]() vin VF3YCBMFC11296179 I hope someone can put me on the right track, Many Thanks Chris |

I've removed the cam sensor located at the right rear of the engine (just under the exhaust manifold). Doing this allows a 10mm pin to locate in the predesignated slot within the flywheel. Doing so locks the bottom end of the engine into place.
I'll crank it over by hand and check before going further Any further hints & tips would be appreciated, Cheers Chris |
