Hi, I have a 2001 expert 1.9. It has sat not being used for about 3 months, when I went to drive it the brakes worked, but the pedal was sinking slowly to the floor. Thinking they needed bleeding I started work but soon found the rear bleed nipple snapped off. Got my local mechanic to change the rear brake cylinders, bleed them, and the pedal was still the same. He has now fitted a used master cylinder (that I supplied), given them a good bleeding again with me helping, and the pedal is still the same?
He says the brakes are working fine, but the pedal still slowly sinks and I don't remember it doing this when the van was used regularly. Can't see any leaks, and don't know what to do. Any suggestions welcome. |

I rang peugeot who directed me to a local garage. Their service person said, "they do that on some of the vehicles, I've known it to happen". I appreciate he was trying to help, but it was a bit unspecific. I also called the used part supplier, who said he knew the vehicle it came from as it had belonged to a friend, and the master cylinder was ok before being removed.

you still have air in the system ...start from the furthest away from the resevour and bleed it
into a bottle so you can see the bubbles |
