Default 2001 Expert 1.9 bad starting

Ive recently bought a 2001 Expert 1.9d van , the problem is when its been stood overnight its really hard to start the morning after , it will usually start after a long crank over but sometimes runs the battery flat before it starts so I have to jump start it , when its been run it fires over straight away with no probs , do you think this could be the glow plugs or could it be anything else

Fuel filter bowl one way valve leaking diesel back to the tank over night.
New bowl needed. Check does it start easier if you prime the bulb at the side of the fuel bowl.
