I did exactly the same as you and moved from 306 to 307

And thus far i've been more than happy with my choice! even my tinkering and dodgy guesswork on some of the wiring wasnt enough to upset anything!

What engine did you punt for?

Hi stubbo i went for the 1.6 hdi in the end test drove the 2ltr but it didnt feel and different to the 1.6 a few people told me the 1.6 was a better engine that peugeot had ironed out all the minor problems as it was the best seller and its nippy and cheap on fuel which is a good thing the way fuel prices keep going up and i feel ive got a good little motor and its comfortable and more room than the old 306 but so far im a happy
