Default Tuning Chip Box

Just fitted one of these to my Peugeot 407 HDI as got a cheap second hand one of eBay. (would never pay the price for a new one or just may as well spend alittle more and get a remap) anyway i was just wondering if anyone else has ever tried one? I have definitely noticed a difference (no where near what they say they do) but was just wondering if its just me. Im getting around 3mpg more and can easily feel alittle more BHP.

i've read in numerous places that Tuning boxes can be bad for your car, as they trick the ecu into feeding more fuel into the engine etc.

in my opinion i would never buy such a device of fleabay as you never know what damage it is causing...myself i would save up and get a decent remap of someone.

But it's suppost to save fuel not use more? There is so much good feedback for these but I still have my doubts that's why I was hoping someone on here has had one fitted for a while.

I was just reading reviews about these on a 407 forum, and they all gave very good feedback for the £90 unit off ebay. To be honest , after reading it i am thinking of getting one myself.

God forbid if you crash but try and remember to open the bonnet and remove it before the insurance people cart it off

It only takes a few minutes to take them off, then the car is standard again. It would take a lot more time and trouble to take a re-map off, and if the insurance people pluged a car up with re-map on, would it not show that its got a performance map on.
