Default Remapping

Hey folks,

just a quick question out of personal opinion does an extra 30bhp and 50Nm ontop of the current 115bhp and 250Nm make much of a difference in the feel of the car etc?

i've decided i want to get it remapped but would like to know if its really worth the £250.

for an extra £250, so it would be £500 i could get a competition air filter and a custom exhaust with remap thrown in.

im not fussed about eco, just want to know if it would be much difference

thanks in advance

well i've emailed around and only a few seem interested. 3 have replied but only 2 with a figure and improvements:

Name: revolution
Location: Dunston, gateshead
Price: £299
Gains: from around 115bhp to 140bhp, 250lb/ft to 300 lb/ft
they say i should also buy a panel filter (pipercross) for £35

name: Celtic Tuning
Location: national
Price: £295
Gains (they give more detail): 113bhp to 152bhp, 205 lb/ft to 265 lb/ft
they also offer 12 month warranty on the car, so if their map messes out up they will replace...excluding wear and tear. they say for £395 they will send me a device that could hold 3 different maps, and i can choose which one to use. the device also doubles up as a DTC device...although fords build this into the speedo anyways.

Sedox performance, sent me a reply saying they got the email and their techs will get back to me with details and price.

i think i should go with celtic...however if sedox reply with a better result to price, i will go with them as they are based in sunderland iirc.

EDIT: if your wondering about the different bhp, basically some sites list the 1.8tdci ford focus mk2 as 115bhp and sometimes as 113bhp.

Definitely worth it.

I had my 206 1.6hdi 110 remapped to produce 140bhp and 220lbft (gains of 30bhp and about 45lb ft). Not only is there much more power, but the car feels so much more torquey lower down.

My car did have problems with its clutch though (now replaced ) slipping in 4th, but I have been assured that a healthy standard clutch is good for the power increase.

Totally recommend it!

Yes, no doubt get it done!

A remap totally transforms the car (if done right...)
