My wife has a 2006 GTI180 that only has 17,000kms on it. The car is only used for driving around Sydney, where the roads are quite rough.
I would like to fit smaller wheels, with deeper profile tyres, to make the ride more comfortable. Has anyone done this? The original wheels/tyres are 205/40/17 and I was considering fitting a 195/60/15 wheel and tyre combination to maintain the same diameter. I appreciate the handling capabilities will not be as good, but, it really is a bone shaking set up. |

Honestly, imo you should keep the standard 180 alloys. Dont ruin a 180!
Youd have to check but 15" might be a squeeze over the brake calipers, think its ok though but make sure to check! Id go for 16" nimrods if you really want to change. |
