Hi All, Happy new year!
I have a lovely (??) 605 that has thrown me a catalogue of problems in recent times. Its now nearly beaten me now it appears i have everything almost sorted! I have just had the dashboard off to repair a water leak... Its all back on now, starts, all warning lights are fine but after driving for a couple of hours I now have the battery warning light flickering. Im not sure if this is a "how bad is my luck" broken alternator issue or is it a fault behind the dash somewhere. I have tested the voltage at the battery and this keeps dropping - suggesting no charge happening. Spec wise this a 2.1 turbo diesel with an auto box Is there a relay or some sort of item lurking in the background that is somehow linked to the alternator not charging. Any suggestions greatly appreciated... Ala |

It seems unrelated but ive discoered that the adjuster for the belt on the alternator is broken so the belt is running slack.
I have no idea how or why this happened. Its all good fun! Alan |

Was just going to suggest tensioners as well!
Glad you found the cause!
