yeah i heard this ageis ago...being from the raf i heard almost all stories like this
being a radar tech and savvy with the tech onboard the planes, i can say that a little bit, such as the missile on an exercise is a little bit exaggerated. you can also get the same result of "jamming" if you point a laser pointer at a fighter jet, you will also get a knock on the door by military police. mind you, you have to have some bollocks to do it ![]() also dutch pilots are useless, theres a frenchy called "piere" he flies with the RAF, everyone shites them selves when they see him, he is so close to the ground everyone standing has to dive to the ground ![]() heres a vid that made me think, he has some bollocks to just stand there:

Problem is people do it with high powered, usualy home made ones, when they are most vulnerable, during landing, now thats a real problem for pilots. ive been working on switching my careers and i still have a long way to go to get both the CPL/IR and ATPL, but i kid you not when i say that i get shites just from thinking about landing.
![]() So yeah i can be safe to say, if i ever start flying commercial, sure as hell i would get pissed off if some wanker did that to me, it freaking destroys your night vision, think of an oncoming car with 200w high beams.

Speaking of difficult landings, this just make me cringe:

That one is bollocks, there has never been an aircraft carrier called HMS Britannia.
Looks like someone has changed the wording somewhat. IIRC the original was an American - Canadian conversation. I've never known the Brits or Irish to use the term "your call". Snopes to the rescue: http://www.snopes.com/military/lighthouse.asp Even the first one is false: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/techno/radar.asp
