New Category on my Licence

Hi folks,

some of you may remember telling you about starting with Arriva (the bus firm)

well last week was my theory test and CPC case study test...passed both

earlier today was my CPC Module 4 practical exam and my Driving Exam

Passed both.

100% on my CPC, so expecting a nice new blue card to keep with my licence.

5 minors on my test. (i got 6 on my car test) a pass is a pass.

so now im awaiting my licence to come back and have both CAT B (car obviously) and now CAT D and CAT D1....

might think about going for my class 1 and class 2 next...see if i can get a grant from the RAF before my termination.

needless to say im well chuffed with myself and proved to myself i can do it....now people will have to get used to a 21 year old, who looks 12 driving a bus

on a further note, the other lad on the course, passed aswell...with only 2 minors!!! so congrats to him

Well done mate !!! I passed driving test 1st time & same as you I got 5 minors . If I remember one of them was " Failing to maintain progress on a duel carriageway " It was raining so I thought 38 in a 50 limit was Ok . My tester told me I'd have to drive a little faster " IN Service " or my passengers would never get anywhere. I must admit that all changed one I had to drive route work & keep to a timetable . Oh the bus I passed in was an old Ex RAF Dennis Javelin Crew Bus . Stagecoach had a couple painted up in their colours & used them as Training buses .......

Class, my minors were lane discipline and mirrors and one late signal haha. Were they the ones with the massive gear stick and the crash gear boxes?

Excellent news John!

Is this the time to tell you that you could've joined the dibble, and been permitted to drive them without any such test? I think we get the exemption so we can drive them to clear the highway following accidents, driver having a heart attack, etc.

sounds good, i dont think our local force is recruiting right now...probably will try in a few years thats if none of my trade pops up...
