Its not the looks its the quality of picture mate as you might know you wont be taking any pictures of your camera

Canon or Nikon good makes.

i have always bought canon had 2 now well would still have 2 but ex took 1 best one you guessed it

That was Canon g9

so what your looking for is a 'bridge camera' Martin, so called cos t 'bridges' the gap bet compact and Dslr.
I was bought a Ge X5
GE Digital Camera : Our Cameras : Power Pro Series : Model No. X5
in May and whilst it took nice photo's it broke after 5 monthsorrible whirring noises coming from inside

so it was replaced by
Amazon Amazon

which feels a lot better quality and the zoom is a bit better, cant really comment on the pictures it takes yet as ive only taken a couple of the grandkids but it looks like its gonna be ok.

what makes you want a bridge rather than a full Dslr??
for me i didnt want to spend too much money incase i didnt take to photography

I've got a cheap & cheerful " Polaroid " brand small digi camera off Bid TV Shopping channel. Takes 2 AA batts. dont bother with re-chargables . Its got 5x optical zoom & a good flash . Its small & lightweight & easy to use & what do you want for £45.00 ???

Some pics I took at RIAT RAF Fairford this year . Cloudy day but pics OK.

Good choice. I've been looking for a D-SLR for my dad and a couple of people recommended this over the Canon 350D and Nikon D40.
