Just been made redundant....Advice required

Hi there,

Unfortunately I've just lost my job, I worked for a large company but never really enjoyed it and I have no desire to go back into that business. So I've enrolled with Blue Orchid who are giving me advice on setting up on my own. I'm very interested in setting up in Used Car Sales, although they're very helpful they haven't at this moment in time given me the specialised information I need. So I would appreciate any independent advice (positive or negative), tips, networking events that could help me.

I'm considering working from home, I've got 20 years experience in sales and I've bought and sold cars many times as a hobby and most importantly I enjoyed doing it.

never lose focus on customer service, nailing that will guarantee more customers as word of mouth spreads.

other than that, make sure you have liability insurance for that just incase scenerio. possibly getting another telephone line installed for the business side of things...

there is a user on here under sales (zsalem4) does exactly this...or i suspect it

Hi John H,

Thanks for your reply, I agree with you customer service is very important. The small business mentor at Blue Orchid should help me with the complex things I need to do. BTW, I've tried to locate zsalem4 but I keep getting this message: Sorry! The administrator has disabled the list of members….and his username is not recognised when I search for him.

go to sales, and just click his username, should allow you to contact him...mind you, you do need 20 posts to PM someone.

Why not try the Diagnostic route , no major outlay and you can do it mobile

Hi all,

Thanks for all the great advice, I'm in contact with Next Step and Blue Orchid over the next few days. Hopefully between these two organisations and all the help I've received from yourselves I'll be able to make some sensible decisions on what I'll be doing next.
