Windscreen Wiper Trouble! HELP Needed!!

Hi forum,

I have an issue with my front windscreen wipers on my V reg Peugeot 306. When i switch them to auto they just go at a normal speed even if it is not raining, however eventually they will stop where they like! This happens at the quickest speed also, however it doesnt seem to happen on intermittent speed. Also when I try to do the one stroke (depressing lever down) I have to hold it down to get one stroke down otherwise it just stops wherever you let go of the stalk!?

I have changed the motor with one from a scrappy, it did exactly the same however it eventually just stopped as I think it was burnt out!

Has anyone got any idea's...I have heard there is two purple relays in the under dash fuse box...I have located these...
