Hi I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what oil I should use for my 206 Gti 180 it's a 53 plate. I'm worried as I have just bought it and dont know what oil is in it. I don't know if mixing oils can damage my engine? I think it is 5w40 but I not to sure with the semi or fully???

Hi slickrikk , semi 5/40w is what peugeot would advise you to use mate , year ago i had a vauxhall carlton 2.0 - vauxhall recommended that i use 15/50 semi , but my friend (who was a mclaren eng) said to use fully 5/40w the one that shell makes(sorry i cant remember the name) when i had the engine stripped for a major overhaul the vauxhall mechanic commented how little wear the engine showed and how quietly it ran , iv used it in every car iv had and i never had any problems.
