Default Servicing 307 HDI 90 BHP

Hi Guys,

I am about to service my 307 HDI, so a few questions on what is recommended:
From 2002, 40.000, it was serviced about 5000 miles back but I still want to do everything I can to have a fresh start.

+ air filter
+ oil filter
+ oil

optional ?

+diesel filter - is it hard to replace? can somebody show me a pic where it is?
+wheel alignment ? (I have a shaking in the wheel at 70+ MPH)

Anything else you might recommend ?

Fuel filter
Cabin filter

Change front wheels to back to see if that eliminates vibration before you pay for wheel alignment.

fuel filter = diesel filter?
cabin filter = air filter ? - or is it something else? (sry, noob )

I will to the wheel exchange before I do alignment, that is a good idea!

Thanks!

Yep, fuel filter is a diesel filter. There's a coke can sized housing on the front (or there was on my 51 307). Therer's a ring on top that unscrews and you just lift out the paper filter.

The cabin filter is AKA pollen filter. You'll probably find that behind the soundproofing towards the back of the engine bay just under the wiper area.

Remove the two pieces of soundproofing and you'll see a black plastic cover.

Cool, thanks for all this! I will give it a shot and come back if I don't find them

hi, servicing is pretty simple like.

for the fuel filter change, make sure you have some diesel in a can before you start just incase you need it to bleed the system through.

shaking steering wheel at 70mph, i had this from 60mph...took it for wheel balance and alignment and sorted it right out.

So, I have all the parts/filters and the oil now.

Question about the oil change: do you thing I could do it without a ramp ?
Just lift the car slightly with a jack so I can reach and realease the screw to bleed the system ?

Also, anything I need to watch out when changing the disel filter?
Everything else I think it's an easy job to do really ...

thanks!

On a 307, most definitely. I usually use a cheap washing up bowl and it used to fit under the 307 no bother.

When changing the diesel filter you'll probably find the locking ring which holds the top bit on is very stiff. Give a good blast of WD40 to clear out the muck, then give it a good wipe clean (to stop the much going into the lower reservoir).

If it doesn't move get a big flat screwdriver and give it a gentle tap with a hammer.

Keep an eye out how the sealing ring goes on!

When disconnecting the fuel pipes, don't forget to put the little bungs in.

Have a cloth ready to catch any diesel on the old filter.

I used to undo the drain plug and drain it out too.

Stick new one filter in, seal it up, re-attach the pipes and give the manual priming bulb plenty of squeezes.
