Default Screen washing 307

Hi, I've discovered this forum by looking online for help with a problem with my 307. You guys all seem really helpful and I wonder if any of you can help me.

I'd been without screenwash for a couple of days and when I topped it up, I found that it wasn't coming out of the 'squirters' properly on the front windscreen (sorry to call them squirters, I don't know the right term!).

The sound is the same when I pull the stalk, so it sounds as though there's power there, but the squirting is very weak - hardly reaching the bottom of the windscreen.

Can anyone out there give me any clues as to what I could do?

Thanks
QB

could be a hole in the pipework allowing the pressure to drop and obviously making it look like someone is just spitting...

could also be the pump on the way out...what does the rear one do? the same?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

The back one seems ok, but yes it does seem like the front ones are spitting.
Perhaps it's a hole then as you suggest. Hmmm, better stop at my local garage then?

If the back one is fine and pushin the correct amount of fluid, I would say the pump is fine and yes it could be a hole or just a blockage in the feed. Either way it will all need disconnecting and sorted. If your not mechanically minded then a garage would be a good step...keep us posted

Thanks John,

There's some stuff I can definitely do, some stuff I'll have a flipping good go at, but when it comes to the car... I think I'd better call someone who knows what they're doing!

Thanks again, and I'll let you know how I get on!

I'm going for a split in the pipe, in fact mines just packed up (407), a split in the pipe, poor Peugeot design going around the bonnet hinge means it's prone to splitting/being crushed... third time it's happened so I'm going for reinforcement this time around.

Thanks for your replies, hopefully a split pipe isn't going to break the bank!

Something else that has happened recently too...
The engine cover is rattling around a bit, a couple of the plastic nuts and bolts that hold it on have come off. I've tried super-gluing them but they've just come off again.

The problem is that the engine cover on the right hand side is knocking onto a blue cap and it becomes loose and I'm losing all the coolant. I'm sure that I can get new plastic nuts and bolts and a new blue cap online somewhere, but do you have any suggestions of how to attach the new plastic bolts?

Thanks for all your help so far!

Haha, thanks Betty - it certainly crossed my mind - but isn't it there to protect the engine??

After an hour or so, I've realised that the bolts are screw-in (according to many different car parts websites), so mine must have just broken off the screws. Grrr...

My front pipes blocked last winter. I took the pipes off from under the bonnet and washed them in boiling hot water with a bit of bleach and tried to direct a hosepipe spray in.

I think it was hard water scale.
