Default Resetting eolys counter

406 2.2 hdi exec

Hey all got a good one for ya's.

Topped up eolys fluid a couple weeks back. Took it to pug for a counter reset, they say it can't be done. They reckon there is a wiring fault between the level sensor in eolys tank to additive ecu.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this before, and any ideas as to where the fault might be, routing of the wires etc. Pug want 170 just to have a good strip down to look for the supposed wiring fault.

Also when I turn the car off I can here what I'm pretty sure is the additive pump running for about 5/10 secs, is this normal.

Thanks for reading

This is all based on the 407, but would presume the 406 to be similar....

Additive is only dosed into the tank after a fill-up, therefore, pump should not be running every time the car is switched off

I have never read of a level sensor in any model Peugeot for the additive, all controlled through theoretical counters in the ECU. Had my 407 topped up and counters reset, and all at a Peugeot dealer.

Advice, ask another dealer

Yep pretty much what I was thinking. If fluid is getting injected into the tank more often than it should this most expensive fluid wont last long!
However I would expect a low level sensor of some sort to activate low fluid level warning.

Ok. Would not having the counters reset cause engine management light to come on, and limp mode?
Light seems to come on when getting upto speed when regen may start. Very intermittent my fault but extremely frustrating.
