Default Pressure differential sensor

Hi All

I need a little help.

After getting my car back after getting a recon engine fitted, I have an Antipollution Fault showing. I believe this is because the sensor, on the right of the radiator (as you look into the engine bay), does not have anything plugged into it other than the 2 hoses from the exhaust. whilst looking for something to plug into the sensor I came across a plug just hanging and thought "Great, problem solved" however, the plug will not fit the socket on the sensor, the sensor socket is white with 3 pins and the plug is Blue with 3 holes ( not sute if the colours are important), the holes and pin are spaced perfectly to go together but the socket has grooves/guides fro the plug that are different to the grooves/guides on the plug.

No my question is "Do I have the wrong plug or the wrong socket/sensor?"

Hope someone can help.

Regards

Nelix.

Hi All

Still waiting for a reply, even if someone has a 307 1.6 HDi that would tell me the colour of their plugs and where they plug into, pictures would be a great help too.

I have also noticed a plug above the alternator that is not plugged in anywhere, it's white with holes for 2 pins, does anyone know where this should go?

Cheers

Nelix

I thought the differential pressure sensor was behind the battery on the 307.

Hi Nige...Its usually on the right side of the rad on the 1.6 hdi engine.

Nelix..if its a 3 pin plug and its in the general area of the diff pressure sensor then i'd say you've got the correct plug...have you tried to push in the tab when connecting the plug...?
Ron.

Yeah I've tried that, if I look in the socket and then the plug I can see straight away that the guides on the plug are different from the socket so will not fit.

I'm off to a scrap yard today to see if I can find a new sensor....failing that it's £50 from peugeot for a new one and I dont even know if thats the problem

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers

Well, just thought I would update you all.

I went to the scrapyard and he had nothing available..... I'll not be going there again in a hurry LOL

However, opposite the Scrapyard was an independant peugeot reapir garage so I popped in to tsee if they could shed any light on the sensor/plug issue. He looked at the sensor and almost instantly said that the White bit inside looked like what was left of an old plug and that I should try and remove it as if he remembered rightly the inside of the socket walls should be smooth. I got home and after much poking and proding I managed to remove the white bit, the plug clicked straight in. I reset the fault code using PP and drove it for a few miles, the fault code has not returned.

Thanks for the comment provided above.

Cheers

Good stuff. The lack of 307s in scrap yards can only be a good thing and a testament to their reliability!

Or they're so bad, even the scrap yards don't want them!?
