Default my partners over heating, please help :(

Right I brought my peugeot partner just before Xmas its a 2.0hdi on a 2003 plate, i think its an awesome little van and really nice to drive and will probably stick with peugeot from now on!!! After a week i noticed it had no thermostat in it, which seemed a bit odd, so I ended up going out and buying one and putting it in, everything was ok, or seemed to be anyhow, then as im driving along one day, the stop symbol comes up on my dash and there's water pissing out my expansion cap, so ive had to let the pressure out and added some more water to it and got home OK, so ive took the thermostat out and it seemed al-right, then today ive noticed it seems to be doing the same thing again, im sort of thinking water pump or head gasket?? Anyone got any ideas, as i cant work till i get it sorted out but haven't got much cash to take it too a garage if its something simple i might be missing!

Thanks very much in advance!

Has it got any antifreeze in it or just neat water?

I hate to say it but looks to be the head joint leaking. May be gasket or distorted mating face due to faulty bolt torque. It would be worth investigating the water pump as nobody wants to do head removal.

There is a product on the market that says it will repair leaking head gaskets. You add it to the cooling system. I always wondered if it might block the heater matrix. I dont recall the name but a google search must give results
