Can you not push it back into the hole (two bits tied together go together)?

i had the mounts go on my back box in my 307. the back box litrally dropped off and was being dragged down the road.

anyways both mounts cost less then a tenner each from a dealership. and a new metal clamp to attach the back box to the exhaust is only a few quid from anywhere.

a new back box with all mounts and clip your looking at around £108 fitted

What car is it? My 306 did it once, you can push it back on the mount but is the exhaust broken at any point?

You could do what john says, but if there's an exhaust-a-fix near you they'll weld it for £20

That usually happens when theres a non genuine exhaust fitted. They tend to be different sizes and its hard to keep them on the the rubber mounts.
The mount on the exhaust might need adjustment (with a hammer)

Just an observation but the bracket that's been welded to the back box looks like it should be welded to the body. That is how they were fitted on my old 106.

If there's a rubber mount present there would be no welding there. Plus you cant see any sign of a broken welded connection.

I was changing my back brakes and noticed something similar with mine. It was a five minute job to do.
