Default Which Eolys???

I have a 206 1.6 HDI GTI 2004 which has the unblock diesel warning currently showing. After reading on Planet it's showing the fluid below minimum level. On a physical check it does look fairly low. I've bought 2.4l of Eolys Powerflex but now been told it should be Eolys 176. I've read that if the tank is clean then I can use Powerflex instead. Can anyone give me a definitive please. The part number for the one I've got is 1500PS.

Thanks

Paul

apparently that is the case, i guess you read the string i posted as regards this, the powerflex is a much better flud, but you'll have to sort out a hose to fill your tank from the pouch. I think i'll play it safe and get 1L of 176 and reset the counters if needed. we don't do many miles in the 307.

Eolys Powerflex

I'm just trying to find out if its a definite ok to use Powerflex or just rumour mill. To say there are 4 million cars running it worldwide there's not much info out there

i didn't find a definite answer but i have heard people have used it without the filters getting blocked, from what i can gather it's more concentrated than 176 and compatible with biodiesel. you'll need access to a peugeot planet to charge the lines and reset counters. make sure there's no addative ecu codes and the tank sensor is present in planet

AAARGH! I really don't know what to do now

I've been offered a 3 litre refil kit of Infineum for £50, or 2 litres of Eolys 176 for £80 and already have the 2.4 litres of Eolys Powerflex. The tank had about half an inch in the bottom. Planet was showing no fault codes but minimum level not reached. What would you do? Stick in the Powerflex and carry on regardless or mix the Infineum with what's left. Or thirdly top up with the 2litre of Eolys 176!?!?!

Half an inch?? that'll last for a year prob, your only adding 8ml for every 50 litres. with no fault codes for the additive ecu showing doesn't really explain why the DPF is needing to be unblocked?
So option 4 is to leave the tank alone it's not empty and the ecu is still injecting eolys whenever you take the cap off and add fuel.
if there's fluid in the tank and the min is not yet reached it should still be pumping in eloys. unless for some other reason it's not getting to the fuel tank. Is the car regening as it should? if not have you considered a forced regen?
i know water ingress on 307 pressure sensors is not uncommon so it could be an indication problem.
i would either leave the tank alone and regen the car if it conformed the filter is blocked by monitoring it in the engine ecu paramiters or go the whole hog refill tank and whip the DPF off for exchange or pressure washing.
i was qouted 90 quid for a 3 ltr refil of 176 from citroen. was the Infineum you were offered from a main dealer? that is a good price.

the choice is yours any of your choices would be ok

The dpf isn't showing as blocked. The warning of UNBLOCK DIESEL FILTER beeps everytime I start the car. A friend with a snap on kit read the codes and it was showing fuel cap sensor fault. I replaced this and another friend with Peugeot Planet read the car again and cleared the fuel cap sensor. There were no faults at all on any of the ecu's in the car but the UNBLOCK DIESEL FILTER warning was still present. After going into the FAP section on Planet the only thing sticking out was a box showing minimum level: not reached. We both therefore assumed it was low and needed topping up. On checking there isn't much in the tank. The cars done 62k now.

The car does regens every 2-300 mile and feels fine in everyday use. Just sick of the warning. I think I'll stick in the Powerflex I've got and any more problems cut it out and remap it out!!

The Infineum was a private sale but genuine stuff, unused with the refill pipes and bottles etc.

"minimum level: not reached" is French for not empty. If planet doesn't show any fault codes it could be a latched message in the Bsi, and just need a GLOBAL RESET. To clear the message. Putting the powerflex in won't do any harm as you'll be flushing the tank out. I'lll be due a FAP service and a tank
Refill @75000 anyway.
Taking it off for a pressure wash or drilling it out is always another option

So to conclude. Stick with the Powerflex but wash the tank out before topping up with it. But also worth trying a GLOBAL RESET before. So...what's a global reset??? Is it the 3 minute rest period and then reconnect battery and turn sidelights on? Or is it something different?
