Default De FAP or not to De FAP

Ever since owning my 2004 206 GTI HDI (1.6 110bhp 62,000 miles) i've had the UNBLOCK DIESEL FILTER warning everytime i've started the car. I've had the fault codes read and a fuel cap sensor fault was showing. I fitted a new fuel cap sensor which made the fault code go but still the warning appears (read with Planet) everytime I start it. No fault codes are shown at all.

The fluid level looks low but not run out (Planet showing Minimum Level: Not reached) but I was going to top it up this weekend and then reset the sensors in the hope that the warning would go away. The car runs fine and regens every 300 miles or so. I am not however 100% confident the top up will cure the problem and dont want to throw money at it in the hope to fix it without anything definate.

I've read 100's of threads and posts all over the internet and faced with a few options:

1. Refil Eolys, reset and hope its fixed.
2. Remove FAP, remap and problem solved
3. Drill through FAP, turn off FAP in Planet and top up fluid tank with diesel.

Having spent circa £400 already on the car (not related to the FAP) I am after a cost effective solution. I need a reliable fix that will sort it out. I have a Galletto from a previous car so tempted to do option 2, but aoption 3 seems to have worked in the few cases i'veread.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Paul

Thats what i'm thinking. I've priced up £450 for a rolling road, DPF removal, New pipe, Remap and 2nd rolling road by MAS Performance in Keighley near me.

Any other thoughts peeps...
