First of all, what am I looking at?? Being new to diesels I'm not sure.
Had the bonnet up a little earlier and I noticed some oil on the hose (in the picture) and behind the dipstick. Gave it a wipe off and a little tighten, however upon tightening the bottom hose clip, I heard a ping. It seems to be tight (no movement) but i'm worried i've damaged something....maybe I just need a new clip.

That's a flexi hose for the intercooler. A little bit of oil seepage is normal where it blows by the turbo seals and gets into the inlet. Just so long as it's not pouring out and the engine oil level doesn't keep dropping.
The ping was probaly the clip slipping a notch. I'd slap on a new one, for what they cost there's noe xcuse not to.

The oil level seems fine (I do check regularly) and it's certainly not pouring out. I'll stick a new clip on later in the week....got a few days off after wednesday, hopefully it can wait until then.
