Default cold start

as title i have a peugeot expert van 2001 hdi 2000cc diesel, i have fitted new glow plugs bout 4 months ago but the light only comes on for a nano second, is there a relay some where that i could replace and where would it be, or any other advice would be great, just takes for ever to start on cold mornings, and is there any manauls for these out there lol my boxer was the same

Try your water temp sensor could be playing up telling your ecu the wrong readings so your not getting your glow plugs i thought they worked only when temp is below -4 .

Thats right Nige hdi's don't need help from glow plugs until water temp lowers to -10 I believe, if I'm wrong i stand to be corrected. High fuel pressure ensures its hot enough to fire above that temp.

smudg hi, any chance you could get someone with a code reader or pp2000 to recover any fault codes you may have in your system? If you can post them on here you'll get a quick response to the problem. The fact the glowplug light comes on indicates to me, that system is operating, and a preheating relay isnt necessary.

ok will try to get codes seems fine on mild mornings and see if water pump sensor is ok thanks for quick replys

hi soz for late reply cant get any codes as all the scanners i have looked at are 2004 on mines 2001, still the same takes a while to start on colder mornings
