Question 99 1.4 206 misfire

Hi My other halfs uncle has a 1.4 206 it has an intermittent mis fire & hessitation it has been better since I changed the plugs so had a diagnostics done by an auto electrician which showed no faults but he said he suspects the coil pack which I changed today its much better but still misses every now and then on tick over and also when you pull away from rest. Its no good just thowing money at the thing and he can't afford much more either! Can anyone sujest what could be wrong?

Hi there and welcome to the forum

Give the throttle body and stepper motor a clean out,this sometimes cures the problem.

Hi Many thanks got to be honest the throttle body is not some where I would have looked where is the stepper motor ? & what does it do sorry I am a truck mechanic no very little about petrol engine electronics!

If you take of the throttle body off and give it a good clean the stepper motor is a component part,clean everything,hopefully this will do the trick.


206 RECALL-May 2004: Potential problems with the throttle body (Jun 2004-Apr 2004).

Hi
Thanks for the advice the very next morning on his way to work he broke down could only get 1200 revs so had to be towed to Pug dealer they are saying the new coil pack I fitted is duff and no 3 fuel injector is shot also 400 later it runns a treat just waiting for out come of faulty coil as it was non gen not had a credit yet and had to pay Pug for gen item + labour!!!
