Default 407 depollution system faulty

Hi all,
I drive a 407 2.0Hdi sport and also use it for towing a caravan. quite frequently now and usually when towing, I get a 'depollution system faulty' error message on the screen along with a noticable loss of power. I understand that the computer puts the car into 'safe mode' but what is the fault ? My local garage reckons the injectors need changing, but after reading various threads on here and other sites, it would seem that there are multiple causes. A lot of the threads I have read are quite old so if there is any new information as to the cause and cure, I would be most apprecative.

Have to start with a proper diagnostic before you go spending your money on any parts.

Where do you go to fill up with fuel? I have had many people come to me saying they have the anti pollution fault who have filled up regular at supermarket filling stations. After a few fill ups at mainstream stations the porblem goes away.

Thanks for that info gents. I've seen a number of people mention about supermarket fuel, so I've done that already and see how it goes, and I've also found a guy locally who specialises in diagnostics for French cars, so I'll give him a shout and see what comes back
