Default 206 Oil Fill Level

ok so this MAY be a stupid question but i'd rather ask than over-fill.....

The end of my dipstick has snapped off (not uncommon from what i've read so far) theres still a small bit of the fat bit on the bottom and the oil does reach that when i dip, just curious as to what point on that fat bit the oil level minimum marker would usually be?

I ask because every so often instead of the "you are fine get driving" oil check display it shows me the "aaaargh your drying up" one, possibly a dodgey sensor but figure better to check than get half of a 300mile roadtrip done and seize lol.

if it is only just touching the end you will be fine, if it is over loads then you have over filled and could drown the engine.

your best bet is to go out and buy yourself a new dipstick, the metal kind.

never trust the electronic side of the oil reading...the oil level sensor is known to be tempremental at best.

well put simply there is about 3/4's a centimetre of the fat bit left on the dip, and the oil registers on it. yeah, suppose a new stick may be an idea, but so many other niggley things i want/need to do first DOH

If you buy a new one it will be plastic as well , leave it in your garage for dipping and the broken one in the car or you`ll end up with two broken one`s.

Fill to just above the end of the broken bit. It'll be fine. Seen it loads of times. No need of a new one.
