Hi guys I'm new to the site and I need your expert assistance in helping me sort a problem with our car..
Its a 2008 Peugeot 207 1.4hdi with 100k kilometers . The problem; My car loses power and stalls whilst driving and then "anti pollution fault" followed by "oil pressure too low" appears on the dash display. Engine management light also comes on.. Once you come to a halt and restart the car it will drive perfectly again as if nothing is wrong ![]() I brought it to my local Peugeot dealer and they put it on the diagnostic but no faults were found.. Car has been serviced using oem parts This fault has happened 6 times in the last week!! PS. 1.4hdi engine does not have a DPF filter apparently Any help is greatly appreciated.. |

Thats quite a problem , apart from diagnostics anything else checked?
When did this start? Was anything done to the car before this started? Last edited by bettyswollocks; 10-09-2011 at 07:18 PM. |

Not sure about 1.4hdi but know that the 1.6hdi flags up the antipollution warning and often stalls/hunts on tickover and initial accelerator if the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve sticks open.

@dilbert; Thanks for the quick reply.. My girlfriends father is a mechanic and he had it on the lift and checked all the obvious things like the exhaust and hoses in the engine bay.. He also put it on his own diagnostic machine (not dealer level) and it found no faults either..
We have no idea where to start as we were hoping that the dealers diagnostic would tell us what was wrong.. Am I correct in saying tht there is no DPF on this car?? |

There's a bit of a guide for removing the egr on a Citroen C3 1.4hdi (may be quite similar) here Google Translate |

It would be rash to say "Do this and problem fixed" but it may be a good place to start with a chance of resolving the problem.
As I say, I'm not au fait with 1.4hdi. The Citroen C3 may be quite similar and there's a guide on replacement here Google Translate Cleaning? I'd suggest replacement as cleaning will probably only give temporary results. The valve and seat on the 1.4 and 1.6 is quite "hidden" unlike the 2.0, and so difficult to get to. Also it may be the actuator rather than the valve. |

@dilbert No we still have this problem.. The problem went away for about a month or so but sadly, it re-appeared again last week
![]() Its such a shame, its a lovely little car apart from that but it looks like we will have to get rid of it (to a dealer of course) and buy something else, most likely a Corolla ![]() Have you heard of any other solutions? EGR was fine on inspection...
