HI All, Newbie here.
I am attempting to resurrect my mother's Peugeot 405 , think its a 1987. The car is in perfect cosmetic shape, and has less than 15k miles. The car does not currently run. I need to locate a mechanic in the Midwest, I live in Chicago, that has some knowledge of Peugeot cars. I have had it out to a mechanic and been jerked around, no one i can find would like to take the project on. I am willing to spend some decent money, couple thousand, for someone to go through it, and get it back on the road. Am only aware of it needing new tires, new fuel, tune up , flush all fluids, go over everything, etc. Any recommendations would be appreciated. |

hi and welcome, being a UK site you will struggle to find anyone from the states...i was aware of a site that sold classic peugeot parts to locations such as the states.
would of thought if you took it to a decent garage just to get them to check everything...maybe a classic car place? even they could have some contacts for your needs. hope you get this sorted, if you get any other probs post up and we can try and help

Thanks for the reply, I figured this would not be easy. They are pretty rare cars these days state side. You do see some 504's from time to time.
I really wanted someone / anyone who had some experience with the brand. I agree I should find some one who focuses on classics or imports. Thanks! |
