Can anyone recommend a code reader of fleabay for Peugeots cheap as this or are they useless -all comments/suggestions welcome-something that gives you the meaning of the code as well.

pugbod, 2002 1.4hdi and 2004 1.4hdi ,this ok for them and does it just give a code or an explanation,(rather have more than just code)
and good to have you back, you will also be glad to know our "mate" on that other forum has been kicked off it and the 407forum for telling lies.

the one you were looking a only gives codes, the one I suggested tells you the code and the reason and it data logs,
even though its before CAN bus it still works on the earlier cars ( CAN just means its ready for the later ones ), ill be off and on till everything around the house is sorted quick edit* never been on the 407 site ill have to check it out. Last edited by pugbod; 08-18-2009 at 09:55 AM. |

I didnt really apart from the 5 free posts on central
Remember asking once how you might know if a MAF sensor is buggered (you know, just general tips) and he sent back a weird graph! After that i gave up on central! Looking at the other posts i can see you must have had a good run in with him though! why did they boot him in the end? And to keep on topic i've been told that a planet system is the only way to go for fault diagnostics, looking at one myself but just need to raise the $$

the diagnostic tool I suggested will diagnose the MAF on real time dataloging as long as you know the value/% as in air passing through which I have floating around somewhere so you don't need planet 2000 ( but planet 2000/lexia 3 is the best ) £250 on ebay I have one of them as well but they only work on pug/citroen but the other works on most cars

we have to be precise on what we need for diagnostics and when you mention a car as special then the tool becomes expensive,
a code reader does just that but doesn't work on all ECUs because they are specific like airbags/body/ABS? so many tools are required unless your only working on a particular make then lexia 3 is the best because it communicates with all system ECUs but a tad expensive if you work on many makes of cars like I do, although im an old fart im well acquainted with the newer systems
