Smile Looking for a 307 soon....

Evening all,
Just registered on forum. I'm Kev, 33 from Dewsbury. Looking to change car in new year, and like to do my homework..
Have a golf 1.8t at the minute, 2001 on a Y. Have had for 3 years, and has been just about bulletproof. Am starting to look for something else as golf is beginning to look a bit tired now, and running costs are high. 134 pounds for 6 months tax, 25mpg when driven around town and 650 pounds a year insurance for me and the missus. All in all, not economical motoring right now..

Started thinking about the 307 as we both really like the look, and spec wise seem a massive bargain. Been told by a mate who is a bit of a dealer that 90bhp 2.0hdis best engine, within my budget anyway. So homework wise, looking into DMF's, DPF's and the like, as long time since owned a diesel. Have had a couple of Clio 172's, and 306 & 206 d turbos, so not a complete newbie to french cars ( or build quality ).

Forum looks good and full of info, let the homework begin... cheers

Have read somewhere that 90 hdi has no filter or dmf as well mate, is this correct? Or just 1.4..

A remap must be essential on a 1.4 diesel though..
