Default Hi from about-to-be-new 1007 Sport 2-Tronic owner in Norfolk

Hi Folks.

Just joined the forum as we have taken the plunge and put a deposit down on a metallic orange 2006 1007 Sport 2-tronic with just *15k* (genuine) on the clock.

Afaik the only one for sale in the country with what seems to be the 'rare as rocking horse sh*t' panoramic glass roof with electric sunroof.

Really like its looks and French quirkiness and looking forward to taking delivery of it shortly. We've had Smart cars and a 107 before so are used to the semi-auto gearbox - just have to remember it won't hold on hills or creep in traffic like our other, conventional, autos.

Also hoping it will prove to be more reliable than the Renaults we've had!

Looking forward to getting to grips with those cool electric doors - haven't had a car with sliding doors since a Nissan Prairie back in the 80s and they were manual.

Slightly intimidated by the huge bank of electrical connectors on the doors - keeping them clean is going to be critical, I can see. Lubricating door seals with a silicone lubricant will probably be a good idea to prevent the doors freezing shut next winter, too.

Anyone bothered to name their pug? I thought (not seriously) of Gwynnie - as in Paltrow, Gwyneth, the actress, because of her film 'Sliding Doors' <chuckle> but was speedily overruled by the management. Probably just as well.

Look forward to sharing the highs, lows and knowledge of other 1007 owners - we must be a rare breed indeed - at least in the UK.

Thanks.

No pics as yet, other than those the dealer has up on Autotrader, but they are pretty boring.

Will post some when we have the car.
