I've just bought at 2000 206 2ltr dturbo.
It's my second car. My first was pile of crap 96 Corsa "sport" which cost a ton on insurance because it was a 'sport' model (yet there was nothing sporty about it.) I'm absolutely made up with my dturbo (especially as it's the same cost to insure as the pile of crap!!) and already I'm thinking of staying with Peugeot turbo diesels in the future. I'm about to take it on it's first motorway run to the Lakes tomorrow which is about a 220 mile round trip and I can't wait!! Anyway: Hello fellow forum members say to shitty old Corsas

Welcome aboard. My brother also found his 1.9 dturbo cost no more to insure than a 1L petrol corsa!

When I was driving mine home after buying, zipping along in third gear and getting pulled back in my seat as I went from 30mph to 50 I just kept laughing to myself and saying "How the fuck is this the same to insure??" (as my '96 petrol Corsa) ![]() ![]() I really feel like I've got one over on the insurance companys with this purchase

Late reply but:
It was ace. So impressed with the performance. Joined the M6 at J29, hooooofed it, and got there that quick that I nearly missed my junction! Then it was onto the up and down, winding back roads leading to Grizedale and it just pissed them. I remember having to change down to 2nd gear in my Corsa, and it screaming as it climbed, the 206 just breezed up in 3rd and accelerated. Coming home was even quicker. The only minor disappointment was that I worked out that I got 158miles from 4 gallons which is 39.5 mpg. Maybe I was expecting too much to think I'd get 50+ but anyway I abosultely love this car and I'm already thinking of making my next car a Pug turbo diesel
