Default Greetings!

Greetings from Oldham, for those of you who are thinking "eh, where's that?" it's pretty much right next to manchester.

After passing my test in July I spent a couple of weeks looking round for a car, after paying a visit to a local peugeot dealer and having a browse round the used cars, I spotted this little gem, and instantly knew that it was the one I wanted, so a few days later I went to sign all the paperwork and now it's mine

It's a 58 plate 207, registered in september 2008, at the time of buying it, it had a little under 15,100 miles on it and it was spotless both inside and out. For a first car, at £6995 some may consider me foolish on spending that much, but I wanted one that I could keep for a while, instead of spending a few hundred quid on a rust bucket which would probably cost me 10x that in repairs over the coming months.

So without further ado, here it is, the pic was taken just moments after spending a good 3 hours cleaning it inside and out, after it had been somewhat neglected for a few weeks (this was down to units being demolished and rebuilt at the place where I work, so didn't want to waste time cleaning it for it to only get covered in dust and god knows what else)

Nice car. You must be loaded to spend £7k on your first car.

How much was the insurance?

the car itself is on finance, costing me £152 a month, or there abouts, of which about £6 is an additional sort of cover, whereby if in the event that I write off the car within the first 2 years, I can claim back the money that I have paid up to that point, after that, I can claim for the remainder of what I owe. Thus being able to clear the outstanding balance.

Insurance wise, it is a bit steep, costing me a little shy of 2 and a half grand. Which was the best price I could find from anywhere. I did look at alternative cars, group 1 cars in particular, but they are all the tiny super minis, the 107, micra's etc (the older models)...being 6ft2, cars as small as that just aren't practical enough, as it happens, I did try sitting in a 107 at the dealers, in order to be able to drive one, I would literally have to sit with my knees up beside my ears!
