Hello everyone,
I've taken my time getting on here even though I've owned two peugeots in the last 4 years. A brilliant 306 1.8 meridian that I managed to run into the ground at about 180k miles and now a 307 1.4 HDi that has just started giving me a few problems. Still I'm looking into making it a nice car by the time I'm done with it. I'm looking into doing a few things with it altogether: 1) Fix the problems up with the car right now which is a massive lack of power where it feels like it's lost its turbo. Also has the ABS light on but I'm not worried about that as it doesnt affect the performance of the car. 2) The car when I got it has had a 3rd party stereo put in which looks kinda nice but doesn't work with the stereo stalk on the steering wheel, this just gets on my nerves having something in the car that i can't use. I've seen that you can pick up a stereo and the multi disc unit online for some fair prices at times but was wondering what is required in order to place these in my car, nothing or everything. 3) I've been looking at the retrofit tutorials on here as well and was thinking that once I can get the stereo sorted I could look into trying to get the trip computer and cruise control installed, if possible. (Is there an easy way to check exactly what you can fit on the car?) 4) Finally I will want to look into trying to improve the performance of the car as much as is worthwhile having on it. It will soon hit 100k and hasn't had the best service history, by looking at the service book, but also it has dual control installed in it as well, minus the pedals, so it may well of been run by new road users and not be in the best running internally. What could anyone recommend as a good way to go here? (Remap still worth a try?) And one other question now, having got myself a lexia 3 cable, should i just run diagbox now instead of pp2000. Just read that pp2000 won't work on any new cars. Still waiting on a laptop to be able to run these with atm though. Cheers for any help you can offer me. Jon

We have the same approach to cars - drive 'em 'til they fall apart.
Welcome. |

Diagbox is the latest generation, moving on from pp2000. It copes with the old and new vehicles from psa. and runs windows 7. PP2000 is ok for your car works on windows xp or 7 using a virtual xp machine.

Well I'll have a shot at trying diagbox then as I tried pp2000 on my win 7 laptop and had no joy in getting it running on the emulator.
Its the main thing I am trying to get running atm as I took the car into an Autoelec and had no joy. Nothing showing up, that he said, would cause the loss in power and he couldn't connect to the brake system so not a clue what's up with the abs yet. Might have a try at looking at the cat and turbo when I get chance and see what I can find out on the abs system. Other than that its all running well *touch wood* |
