XUD7TE 1.8 turbo diesel engine and cambelt ADVICE NEEDED

Hi,

I am new to this forum, and would some advice. We have a peugeot diesel engine in our car (same as 205 TD and 306 TD?), and the cambelt has failed. Does anyone know if these engines are non intrusive?

As i am hoping the pistons and valves did not make contact when the belt snapped...

I read somewhere the valves are vertical in this engine?

Also does anyone know of anyone local to the Bolton, Preston area that is an expert on fixing these engines?
