Exclamation A word of warning: Buying Lexia 3 from China

Just thought I'd tip the forum members off following a rather nasty experience I'm currently going through with a Chinese Lexia interface seller.

I bought a batch of 20 and 5 were dead on arrival. I sent them back at over £55 for tracked courier and on receipt, the cheeky &^%$ is claiming that 2 of the 5 aren't from his company! He wont refund for the other 3 either.

The interfaces were dispatched from Hong Kong.. but I returned them to him in China. I think he's a drop shipper and just takes orders via his website.

I'm raising a Paypal claim... but its his word against mine. I'm ruddy raging - they're using the distance factor to just rip the pi$$.

So folks, if you want a lexia and are tempted to buy from China.. be warned. I'm happy to name & shame so that nobody else here gets bitten:

Website: BMW SCANNER,BENZ STAR TOOL,MB STAR,ELM327 SCAN TOOL, RENAULT CAN CLIP DIAGNOSTIC ,BENZ KEY PROGRAMMER,LEXIA 3 DIAGNOSTC
Email contact: ceobd@msn.cn and vnvtech@hotmail.com
Goes by the nane "Henry" but is actually Bolin Huang

So, be warned and avoid this seller like the plague folks Buy from a UK based seller who's taken the risk. Please pass on these details if you're on any other PSA forums - even if you just buy just one of them and its faulty, they'll claim not to have received it unless you pay half the value of it to send it back by tracked delivery... and even then, they'll claim its not theirs!

I bought mine from Lexia-3 Diagnostic Scanner Tool For Citroen and Peugeot - Automotive - Professional Diagnostic - Door2Door Shop as I believe a number of other members have. These too are China based, but didn't have any problems, and haven't heard of anyone else having problems with them. Fortunately, not all Chinese sellers are fraudsters

Wish I knew about them before buying mine I wouldnt mind waiting for replacements, but to claim that the returned interfaces dont even belong to them is a disgrace

It'll be interesting to see how Paypal treat the case when I can escalate it at the weekend. I'll not hold my breath there

Forget Paypal. I had a similar problem with a guy in America - I bought some Adobe software which was supposed to be original but came on CD-Rs.

Paypal didn't want to know - they claimed they couldn't get in contact with the seller. I claimed off my credit card company instead. They yanked the money off Paypal and it was refunded onto my card within a week.

If I was you, I'd go down that road instead of pissing around with Paypal.

This is why you should never link your bank account with Ebay or Paypal. Its far too easy for them to take money and very hard to recover it back because your bank can't be bothered with the hassle.

But if you link it to a credit card, its Visa's and Mastercard's money!

The lure of making money? When I bought mine I was wishing I'd bought ten and stuck 'em on Ebay and make £30 or £40 profit on each one!

The main reason for me always selecting the credit card payment option
Once bought on credit card, make a payment from bank account to credit card and its still paid off.... but at least like you say, its their money

Bank account linked just purely to take money out when selling ebay, otherwise it wouldn't be.
