Wierd noise 207 cc

Hi everyone, I am hoping for some help..I have just purchased a 2007 207 CC with 39,000 miles. There is a strange noise when setting off from a standstill, it doesn't matter what gear you are in-1st, 2nd or 3rd but disappears at about 30 mph. The noise disappears when you depress the clutch pedal to change gear but then starts again as you release the clutch pedal. The noise is like a tapping and can be heard from inside and outside of the car.

Could be absolutely anything. Without hearing it its near impossible to tell!
