The 106 would give the Suzi a wedgie on the straight, and kick it in the nuts first sign of a corner.

The 106 is also very tuneable, with another genuine 25ish BHP being available with some breathing mods.

Handling on a 106 gti is that of one of the best cars ever built. No exceptions. And that includes all the fancy supercars of the time. When the 106 gti was released Top Gear magazine did a test of it, the gti6, gti golf, 911, 355 ferrari, skyline gtr, 550 ferrari, corvette and 2 other expensive things I don't remember. The 106 came 2nd. The quote from the magazine was, It would have won only it was a puny french hatchback! (The 355 won)
